Proposal for a didactic manuel of flora from the botanic garden "cold street" of the city of Huambo

Abstract

According to results of recent investigations carried out in the Biology Teaching course of ISCED-Huambo, it was possible to verify deficiencies in the development of practical field lessons in the field of Plant Biology. For this purpose, the present study aims to propose the elaboration of a didactic manual of the flora of the Botanic Garden of Huambo City, "cold stove", as a base for the development of pedagogical skills in practical field classes. The teaching manual will be divided into three parts. The first one will present the characterization of the study area; the second will include the description of a representative sample of 54 embryophyte species registered in the study area, grouped in 32 botanical families. Each species will be represented with an information sheet referring to the scientific name, botanical family, common name, photographic illustration (leaves, flowers and fruits), botanical description, geographical distribution and uses. The third part will present the models, types, to be followed in the planning of a practical field class, flexible and adaptable to different contexts. This material also aims to contribute to the research, dissemination, consultation in the planning of field practical classes in the area of Natural Sciences at different levels of education and in the formation of a society with values and attitudes of conservation and / or preservation of biodiversity.
