Abstract

This article is part of a  master's dissertation which aimed at finding out the shortcomings that ISCED teachers in Huambo presented in carrying out professional/career guidance  tthrough the teaching-learning process and, based on the outcomesdevelop  an action plan that will contribute to the methodological preparation of teachers, to the professional/career guidance of first year students  majoring in Mathematics at ISCED - Huambo. This  research made use of theoretical methods such as: Historical-logical, analysis-synthesis, system approach, induction-deduction. Thus it also usedempirical methodssuch as: observation, document analysis, interview, and questionnaire. Lastly  it also made use of  statistical-mathematical methods. The results  clearly demonstrate the insufficiencies that most teachers have to carry out professional/career guidance through the teaching - learning process.
